My iPhone Apps

Whenever you meet anyone with an iPhone, if you have one, first question is:

“….so….. what apps are cool?”

Here are my recommended apps for 2010, my first year of owning an iPhone!

Angry Birds is the best game I’ve played, it’s super challenging, and you can learn to play it in 5 seconds, and it has so much longevity. Awesome for filling the lulls in a day.

TomTom’s GPS app is great, it’s taken the stress out of many a journey to a meeting at a new client.

Stanza is probably the app I use most, it’s my ebook reader. I read plenty, I love it because I can have loads of book with me anywhere, and I can read in the dark without a light on.

Last in this group is Foursquare, which is really pointless, but it’s fun! You check in to various places you go, and become the “mayor” if you’re a regular. Nice to add some geography to your facebook status and twitter tweets. 

The Incident is my next favorite game on the iPhone after the Angry Birds gang, and it’s got a great retro feel that reminds me of my first experiences playing computer games in the late 80’s and early 90’s.

Instapaper is a new one, I think it has potential, you can ‘save for later’ an article online, and read it when you have time. Will keep you posted on this one!

Shazam is great, if you hear a song you like playing, quickly open this app, and it will listen to the song, and then tell you the singer, the title, and all sort of other info. really great.

Angry Birds Seasons… what needs to be said? Angry Birds, but themed for the fun holidays!

Mashable and Gizmodo are two tech news agencies, nice for keeping up to date on the latest news about the Interwebs.

And lastly, I use Tweetdeck for Twitter and Facebook, I like it, but I hate that it’s so unstable and doesn’t know about iOS 4 - always forgets it’s place, has to restart everytime you close it, which is so irritating. So it doesn’t get a recommend from me until they get themselves up to date!!
