Someone has just given Email the revamp of it’s life. They’ve reimagined Email in a way that none of these guys have managed to do.
And the shock and horror of it all, is that the inventor of the best Email experience yet is…. AOL!
lol.
Seriously, though, Altomail is the new email, and they’ve done amazing things with it. These are the top 2 features for me so far:

The Insanely Great Chart of Apple’s History
(via Mashable)
Check out Apple’s site today for a ‘Remembering Steve’ video - it’s been a year since he died.
To our customers,
At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers. With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.
We launched Maps initially with the first version of iOS. As time progressed, we wanted to provide our customers with even better Maps including features such as turn-by-turn directions, voice integration, Flyover and vector-based maps. In order to do this, we had to create a new version of Maps from the ground up.
There are already more than 100 million iOS devices using the new Apple Maps, with more and more joining us every day. In just over a week, iOS users with the new Maps have already searched for nearly half a billion locations. The more our customers use our Maps the better it will get and we greatly appreciate all of the feedback we have received from you.
While we’re improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app.
Everything we do at Apple is aimed at making our products the best in the world. We know that you expect that from us, and we will keep working non-stop until Maps lives up to the same incredibly high standard.
Tim Cook
Apple’s CEO
Woz is keen to become an Australian… One of the reasons he gives:
“you put a lot more money into schools than into military, and I go along with that.”
Interesting article about a bit of a dumb-sounding new product from Apple - - 7” iPad. So we have a 9” iPad, and 4” iPhone, now a 7” iPad - maybe they’re planning to release something at every mark on the ruler.
But see this quote from the writer about how preposterously accurate Apple leaks are these days:
“… But I have the feeling that this is a new page from Tim Cook’s book, who in public vowed for new heights of secrecy, but may have found a way to successfully neutralize negative opinions on an increasingly beige product line by allowing people an advanced look.”
Apple iPhone 5.
What do we think?
I think it’s pretty much what I expected, which is, to be honest, a bit underwhelming. I haven’t watched the keynote yet, so I’m not sure if there’s any amazing innovations here, but it feels rather a plain release.
Apple is really the type of company that has in the past shown us what we didn’t know we wanted - but these last few products seem to lack that - they feel more like ‘you asked for bigger screens and more speed, here it is!’. Which we can get from China, let’s face it.
From Apple, we need inspiring products.
Is the iPhone 5 inspiring? I don’t know, not at first glance…
